The Cryptid Hunter

Luisa, a self-styled "Cryptid Hunter," arrives at the local animal shelter with a frantic and contradictory demeanor, oscillating between demanding assistance and insisting she requires none. Her mission is to capture photographic proof of the "Midnight Yawner," a creature described in local lore as a terrifying beast lurking in the woods behind the facility. To Luisa's shock, her skepticism toward the shelter's residents—whom she claims to hate—vanishes when she requests bags of Green Bison dog food, revealing that the legendary predator is specifically attracted to this brand. The player initially refuses to divert scarce resources from the shelter's resident dogs, forcing Luisa to attempt a trap on her own with insufficient bait.

After several failed attempts where Luisa returns complaining of the creature's craftiness and empty bait boxes, she eventually succeeds in capturing the entity. However, the revelation subverts her initial terror: the Midnight Yawner is not a monster, but a dog she has named "Yawner." Far from being a threat, the creature has become her companion, and Luisa warmly declares that they are now friends before taking it home. Despite this heartwarming resolution, Luisa's persistence as an amateur investigator remains unchanged; upon discovering the bait provided was merely an empty box, she immediately returns to demand actual food to continue her hunt, proving that while she may have found a friend, her quest for cryptid validation is far from over.
